WOMEN WITH REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH PROBLEMS

v      Adithi has done surveys in Sitamarhi and Dumka districts and has found a very high incidence of leucorrhoea and prolapse of the uterus (79% and 81%).  At least leucorrhoea can be cured, but not prolapse of the uterus (this will need surgery – large numbers of operations in rural areas will lead to infection and more trouble only).

v      ADITHI is running a Regional Training and Resource Development Center on RCH for the state of Bihar with the support of Population Foundation of India. We have trained the Chief Functionaries and Health workers of 150 beneficiaries from different NGOs of Bihar till date.

v     ADITHI has been identified as the Mother NGO by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and has been given support for the RCH Program for the grassroots level NGOs of 2 districts of Bihar.

v      ADITHI has developed modules on RCH for rural adolescent girls which have proved very useful for social activists working at the grassroot level.

v     ADITHI is facilitating human resource development of the NGOs in each of the two districts.  Of interest is the development of the concept of the death-cycle in Bihar in the HRD sessions.
