HARNESSING WOMEN POWER VIA FISHERIES

☺    Bhusura traditional fisherwomen have repaid Rs.8,93,000/- out of a bank loan of Rs.10,00,000/- for the development of their oxbow lake; this is the highest repayment in Bihar (especially by fisherwomen).

☺     205 ponds in Andhrathari are in the process of being allotted to traditional fisherwomen’s cooperatives after a protracted struggle.
