ADOLESCENT PREGNANT
GIRLS
We
were the first to work with adolescent girls. We have
developed programmes in 'healthy highways', reproductive and child
health, and doorstep education for adolescent girls, barefoot
marketers, barefoot researchers and trafficking and highlighted
issues like female infanticide. We were the first to
document female infanticide in Bihar.
We
were the first to look after and give in adoption, 29 girls (victims of infanticide) and
promoted higher education for young women.
ADITHI
has been recognized as a MNGO by the Ministry of Health and Family
Welfare, Government of India and has been given support for the
reproductive and child health (RCH) programme.
We
have developed modules on reproductive and child health and for
rural adolescent girls, which has been proved very useful for the
social activists working at grassroots.
